Study the effect of galactooligosaccharide on the function of smoothing intestine and defecating feces excretion

Objective To study the effect of galactooligosaccharide in smoothing intestine and relieving constipation.Methods According to“Technical standards for testing assessment of health food(2003)-Method for the assessment of defecating feces excretion function”,mice were divided into 5 groups to be respectively fed for 10 days:Blank control group,constipated model control group,3 test groups.The percentage of ink propellant in small intestine,the time which first black feces were expelled,the number and the weight of feces within 6 hours were observed.Results The result showed that(1)constipated model mice were come into existence(P0.01);(2)the percentage of ink propellant in small intestine,the number and the weight of feces within 6 hours in 3 test groups were statistically significant increased compared with the constipated model control group(P0.01);(3)the time which first black feces were expelled in 3 test groups were statistically significant shorten compared with the constipated model control group(P0.01).Galactooligosaccharide has function of relieving constipation and defecating feces excretion in animal test.
