Abstract
Objectives To explore the efficiency and safety of treatment of upper ureteral stone using minimally invasive per-cutaneous nephrolithotomy(MPCNL).Methods From September 2004 to March 2010,83 patients(aged from 20 to 68 years old)with upper ureteral stone underwent MPCNL in our hospital were enrolled the study. The characteristics regarding operation and compli-cations were recorded and analysed retrospectively. Results All of the procedures were successful. No residual stone after the first procedure were observed. The rate of clear of stone was 100%.The mean operative time is 30~70 min.No renal hemorrhage or kid-ney damage caused by the operation were determined. No transfusion was needed. The mean hospital time was 7 days. Conclusions MPCNL is a mini-invasive operation. It is safety and efficiency in treatment of upper ureteral calculi.
