Abstract

Language is the carrier of culture and idiom is called the essence of language .Both English and Chinese language have long history and contain a large number of idioms .Different idioms of different languages carry different national characteristics and cultural information, so it is difficult for us to translate the cultural connotations of idioms .In order to make the idiomatic translation brief ?vivid and interesting, we should properly adopt naturalization and dissimilation or combine both in translation according to different situations. The present paper will explore the cultural connotations of English and Chinese idioms and naturalization and dissimilation in their translation .
