Diagnostic Value of DOG1 Protein for Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor

Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of DOG1 protein in patients with gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors(GISTs) and explore its role in the diagnosis.Methods Totally 67 GISTs patients(GISTs group) and 39 non-GISTs patients(control group) were enrolled in this study.The expressions of DOG1 and CD117 were detected using immunohistochemical methods and compared in both groups.Results The expression rates of DOG1 and CD117 were 95.52%(64/67) and 92.54%(62/67) in the GISTs group and showed no correlation with age,gender,tumor location,tumor size,histological type and risk grade(P0.05).The expression rate of DOG1 was 7.69%(3/39) in the control group,which was significantly lower than that in the GISTs group(P0.01).Conclusion DOG1 protein is a novel sensitive and specific GISTs marker and can be helpful in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of GISTs,especially when combine with CD117.
