Abstract

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effect of invasive positive pressure ventilation(IPPV) for the patients with flail chest complicated respiratory insufficiency. Methods The clinical data of 18 cases with flail chest complicated respiratory insufficiency received IPPV were analyzed retrospectively. Results One case with severe brain injury died of MOF.All other cases were cured. Conclusions The curative effect of IPPV is obviously for flail chest complicated respiratory insufficiency.
