The Negative Transfer of the Mother Tongue in College English Writing and Its Remedy

The interference of mother tongue exists commonly in English writing which impacts the student' CET grades to a certain extent.The main reason is that different thinking patterns between English and Chinese result in the negative transfer of mother tongue.As a consequence,the mother tongue interferes with English learning process.Teachers should take appropriate measures to enforce their students' English thinking skills,remedy negative transfer of mother tongue,avoid Chinglish as far as possible,and promote the Chinese students' English writing level ultimately.
