Abstract
To evaluate the clinical features and the treatments of traumatic carotid-cavernous fistula (TCCF) and spontaneous carotid-cavernous fistulas (SCCF). Methods:The diagnoses and therapeutic outcomes of TCCF and SCCF were analyzed. Results:All CCF cases were diagnosed by Digital subtraction angiography (DSA).24 cases of TCCF were treated by intra-vascular releasable embolization,in which the carotid fistulas of 22 cases were occluded completely with symptoms and signs disappeared, and 2 cases were occluded fundamentally with clinical damages decreased remarkably.5 cases of SCCF got better therapeutic outcomes by conservative therapy. Conclusions:The cerebral artery DSA and intravascular therapy are ideal methods for the diagnosis and treatment of CCF.
