Abstract
The soil samples collected from the vegetable bases in suburb of Urumqi were investigated and the heavy metal contents in soils were analyzed. Evaluation of indexes of single contaminants and combined pollution was made according to the national standard for evaluation of soil environmental quality. The results showed the indexes of monomial and synthetic pollution were less than 1 and 0.7,respectively. The evaluation indicated that soil environmental quality is in a safe degree.
