Studies on suitable stand densities of Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica plantations in sandy area

Based on the investigation of growth parameters such as DBH,height,volume and trunk form,and occurrence of Sphaerosis shoot blight of Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica plantations at different densities in sandy area,the effects of the density on growth and health were analyzed. The results indicated it would be proper to plant Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica in the dry sub-humid area at 1250 to2500 trees perhectare,and retain about 1000 trees perhectare when the plantation was at the age of 21,and about 500 trees perhectare at the age of 31.
