Results The ages of the GPs were young, their education backgrounds were secondary school or college, accounting for 75. 8%( 125 /165). Among all the GPs,81. 3%( 134 /165) participated in the training for improving their professional knowledge and skills,53. 3%( 88 /165) got 25 scores or above; 71. 5%( 118 /165) took medical course and 60. 0%( 99 /165) took preventive medicine, and there was statistically significant difference in choosing training course among the GPs with different education backgrounds( P =0. 01). The percentage of GPs whose fees for training came from the institutions accounted for 60. 6%( 100 /165) and from their own for 46. 1%( 76 /165). The percentage of GPs whose influencing factors to participation in the training were time accounted for 62. 4%( 103 /165),traffic for 35. 8%( 59 /165),and fee for 24. 2%( 40 /165). Conclusion It is as soon as possible to formulate the related laws and regulations like Administrative Regulations for Continuing Medical Education of GPs. The continuing education contents need to be more diverse and alternative. Continuing medical education of GPs should be paid great attention and its fund input needs to be increased.
