Confucian Religion,Confucianism and Chinese National Culture——Reflection on Modern Forms of Chinese Traditional Culture

In modern times,facing impact from Western cultures,Chinese Traditional Culture initiates a self-preservation campaign,which successively goes through periods of Confucian Religion proposed by KANG You-wei and TAN Si-tong,Confucianism by LIANG Qi-chao,Chinese National Culture by ZHANG Bing-lin,etc.These periods share few similarities,revealing various reflections on Chinese Traditional Culture from Western perspective,in which Chinese Traditional Culture is interpreted as religion compatible to Christianity;a spiritual culture opposite to western material culture;a culture that falls behind western culture.A close scrutiny of these different forms is significant for us to recognize contemporary fate of Chinese Traditional Culture.
