Abstract

Objective To investigate CT manifestations and clinical features of fungal maxillary sinusitis.MethodsCT and clinical manifestations of 91cases of fungal maxillary sinusitis who were confirmed by surgery and pathology in our hospital from Jan.2006 to Jun.2009 were retrospectively analysed.Results①The most common clinical manifestation is bloodshot snivel back to the suction and color is mostly dark red;② CT shows nodular mass and irregular-shaped calcification image in the maxillary sinus;③The common site of fungal maxillary sinusitis is unilateral.Bone hyperplasia and hardening of the wall of maxillary sinus and local bone destruction exist together. Conclusion Fungal maxillary sinusitis has significant clinical manifestations.Being characteristic manifestation,CT scaning is the preferred radiographic examination of fungal maxillary sinusitis.
