The Application of Formative Evaluation in Evaluating Students'Oral English

Abstract

Evaluation includes formative evaluation and summative evaluation.Compared with summative evaluation,formative evaluation can give teachers and students immediate feedback,remedy and adjustment in teaching and learning,resulting to the improvement of teaching and learning quality.The results of one-year practice show that the application of formative evaluation can inspire students' enthusiasm for English speaking,and consequently perfect students' communicative competence.There is no doubt about the positive effect of formative evaluation.
