Abstract

Objective To discuss the efect of ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy via the outer sheath of resectoscope for bladder calculi. Methods 36 bladder calculi patients were performed ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy via the outer sheath of resectoscope.Among them,11 were only bladder calculi,17were complicated with benign prostate hyperplasia,2 with bladder neck fibrosis,1 with polyps of external urethral orifice,4 with bladder infection, and 1 had operation history of transurethral resection of prostate(TURP).Results All the 36 cases were cured on one session. No severe complications such as perioperative massive hemorrhage, balladeer perforation and urethral stricture occured. Conclusion Ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy via the outer sheath of resectoscope is a safe and effective method for bladder stones with the advantages such as minimally invasion.sh0n operative duration and simple operation.
