Abstract
One of the core technologies of smart antennas is DOA estimation( DOA),which is of great significance in wireless communications. MUSIC algorithm is a classic DOA estimation algorithm,which has large amount of computation and an inability to distinguish coherent signals with small SNR. Some improved algorithms are proposed. This paper studies the Root MUSIC algorithm,MUSIC algorithm based on spatial smoothing techniques,improved MUSIC algorithm and modified MUSIC algorithm. The effect of the angle interval,SNR and signal coherent on the resolution of the improved MUSIC algorithm is analyzed by simulation. The proposed improved MUSIC algorithms enhance the advantages in high resolution for applications in smart antennas.
