Abstract

Mongolian's Folk Song is popular among Mongolia and the extensive areas of grassland of China's Inner Mongolia. It can be classified into two. One is the Long Tune which is characterized by its free rhythm,long melody,and the magnificent effects which may easily move anyone when listening. It presents a strong grassland flavor and belongs to the lyric folk song. The other is the Short Tune which is characterized by its balanced rhyme,simple and concise tune. The Long Tune,one of the manifestations of Mongolian's Folk Song,wears the strong ethnic style and characteristic and is specialized by both the style of tune and the way of their singing. As the master piece of our human being's oral and immaterial heritage,the Long Tune,the major part of the Mongolian's Folk Song,deserves the experts' and scholars' exploring,study,collecting,inheriting and protection.
