The paper illustrated Kingston's feminist agenda as a woman writer and dilemma as a Chinese American woman writer through the analysis of the contradictions in the portrayal of women's characters in The Woman Warrior.It focused on critics' misreading of The Woman Warrior concerning the contradictions and Kingston's inability of deconstructing in her writing the Western binary oppositions due to the restriction of her special position and the special age she was in when she wrote the book.
