Abstract
Objective To study the effects of Midazolam during pregnancy on the learning and memory function of rat offspring. Methods Thirty pregnant SD rats were randomly divided into midazolam group(group M)and control group(group C),with fifteen rats in each group. The rats in group M received midazolam via tail vein for 2 hours, and the rats in group C received the same volume of physiological saline solution only. The learning and memory functions of the offspring were tested by Morris water maze test at postnatal days 20 and 30,respectively.Results There was no significant difference in escape latency of the offspring between group M and group C.Conclusion Midazolam had no significant effect on the learning and memory function of rat offspring during pregnancy.
