Abstract
Objective:To investigate the combination treatment effect in patients with hepatocellula carcinoma (HCC) complicated with portal vein tumor thrombus. Methods: 122 cases of HCC were divided into two groups: 72 cases were treated by transcatheter artery chemotherapy embolization (TACE)(group A) ;50 cases were treated by TACE combined with exterior radiate treatment (group B). Results: In group A the survival rates of 1 and 2 years were 22.3 % and 4.5%, respectively, and the average survival time was 7.5 months and in group B the survival rates of 1,2 and 3 years were 39.2% ,21.2% and 13 .5% ,respectively, and the average survival time was 17.5 months ( P 0.05 ) . Conclusion: The combination treatment can obviously improve the treatment effect of HCC complicated with portal vein tumor thrombus.
