Abstract
Factors influenced the preparation of complete deacetylation of chitosan, including catalyst amount, feed reagent ratio, reaction temperature, reaction time, surface-active agent amount are studied using dimethyl sulfoxide-sodium hydroxide as the medium and water as the phase transfer catalyst. (Results) show that complete deacetylation of chitosan can be optimized by the following optimum reaction (conditions:) catalyst amount 1.5 mL, feed reagent ratio 1∶2, reaction tempetraute (130 °C) reaction time (3 h,) (5 g) octy trimethylammonium bromide added to 100 g Chitosan. The structure of complete deacetylized chitosan is characterizated by IR and XPS. Results indicate that —NHCOCH_3 is changed into —NH_2 in (chitosan) completely.
