Abstract
In contemporary western philosophy,Hermeneutics not only implies certain kind of art under- standing and interpreting text, more importantly,it also aspires after the ontology.Through examining how we translated Hermeneutics, the common ground with Chinese tradition, and the meaning of Hermeneutics in west- ern modern philosophy,we find that Hermeneutics not only implies methodology but also ontology, and it is the conformity of the two.We also find that using interpretation to translate Hermeneutics will be more consistent with our tradition, and it can express its characteristics of unifying the methodology and ontology more easily and profoundly.
