Abstract

J.Habermas's theory of modernity holds that causes that arouse crises in modernity lie mainly in the world of living erosion by system, and fundamental approaches to solving crises rely on revival of the world of living. Therefore, it is necessary to establish effective standards of language use, re-perform functions of rational criticizing of public society, and stipulate over-expanded instrumental rationality with aid of associating rationality, making them complement each other for coordinated development in realizing integration of society. These conclusions drawn from this paper offer, for overall modernizational process of China in which current modernity remains embryonic stage, some enlightenment - carrying forward core spirit of modernity and constructing civic society in China.
