Abstract

A communication project of electric power distribution network base on EPON is put forward. The system structure of distribution network is analyzed, according to different structures of distribution network, the different communication models base on EPON are designed. A entire communication project of distribution network base on EPON is put forward. The communication network of the project adopts Rapid Ring Protection Protocol(RRPP), and the optical line terminator(OLT) connects the optical network unit(ONU) by the models such as tree model, hand-by-hand all optical circuit protection model and multi-grade divided optical in series model, which realizes the influx of kilo-million optical ports. The results of testing demonstrate that when the communication system works normally, the up-delay of data transmission is less than 2ms, and the down-delay is not beyond 1ms, which entirely meets the demands of communication system for the distribution network automation.
