Abstract
Stay cable is considered as an important component part in support systems of cable-stayed bridges.Durability of stay cables affects its life directly, therefore, the changeability of stay cables is very important. With reference to cable replacement projects of several bridges, structural analysis, design of stay cables and anchor device, construction requirements and construction monitoring techniques involved in cable replacement are discussed and summarized.Research results show that principles like constant strength, constant cable force and original structure demand should be well followed. In the meantime,multi-degree design should be carried out on corrosion prevention and waterproofing of anchor device.Research results may provide some valuable experience for related design and construction.
