Study of The Designing Ideas of Public Sculpture in Modern Chinese City

Public sculpture plays an important role in the design of urban sights. It has a special function which the other cultures and arts do not have. This article discusses the meaning of the Public sculpture, the functions which Public sculpture plays in environment of modern city and the problems in the design of the public sculpture. Then I try to put forward the designing ideas of public sculpture and expect that the status of public sculpture which is not optimistic in our country can be improved, so the culture level of modern city can also be advanced.
