Abstract
BIAN Xiao xuan was a famous scholar by self study. At the beginning, he spent his spare time to study intensively neoteric history and he didn't start to research ancient literary and history until he came to work with Mr. FAN Wen lan. In his later years, besides keeping his own study, he guided his colleagues to undertake the large projects of culture accumulation.
