Abstract
The juice of papaya sample was digested with HNO 3 and H 2O 2 in a closed vessel by microwave heating, which showed its special features of using less reagents, avoiding the possibility of pollution and being faster in digestion. Optimum conditions for the FAAS determination of Cu Zn Fe and Mn in the same sample solution were studied and it was found the above mentioned elements can be determined successively. The interferences among the four elements were tested and the results showed that the amounts of the four elements present were far below the tolerable level of interference. Under the optimum conditions, the detection limits were found to be 0 004μg·ml -1 for copper(Ⅱ), 0.0048μg·ml -1 for zinc(Ⅱ), 0.003μg·ml -1 for iron(Ⅲ) and 0.006μg·ml -1 for manganese(Ⅱ). RSD′s of the method were in the range of 1.7%~4.9%, and recoveries in the range of 96.8%~106.6%.
