Abstract

Based on the statistical data of Heilongjiang Province, the traditional and the modified ecological footprint model based on energy analysis were used to quantitatively analyze the sustainable development status in 2005 of Heilongjiang Province. The results showed that the per capita modified ecological footprint was 4.9995 hm2,ecological capacity was 1.4168 hm2,and ecological deficit was 3.5827 hm2;the per capita traditional ecological footprint was 2.4859 hm2,ecological capacity was 1.8629 hm2,and ecological deficit was 0.6256 hm2.The results of two different ecological footprint models were consistent, which indicated that the ecological footprint of Heilongjiang Province was beyond the available ecological capacity, and its social and economic development was not sustainable.
