Abstract
Objective To investigate the anti-oxidation role of puerarin against hepatic ischemia-reperfusioon injury and its effect on some biochemical indicators in rats. Methods 60 cats were selected and divided into three groups randomly(n=20),sham operated group (A),ischemia-reperfusion group(B) and ischemia reperfusion/puerarin group(C).Changes of several parameters which included malondialdehyde(MDA),superoxide dismutase(SOD),xanthine oxidase(XO) and alanine aminotransferase(ALT) were measured before ischemia;45 minutes after ischemia and 45 minutes after reperfusion in plasma. Results XO and MDA increased as well as SOD decreassed at 45 minutes after reperfusion (P0.05 or P0.01) in plasma.Differences of each items between group B and C were significant (P0.05 or P0.01).Conclusion Puerarin may attenuate hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury by dropping oxygen free radicals level(reising SOD activity and dropping XO activity) and antagonizing lipid peroxidation(reducing MDA content).
