Abstract

Objective To Compare mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) and intermittent cyclophosphamide (CTX) intravenous pulse therapy in treatment of lupus nephritis (LN) of clinical efficacy. Methods 60 patients of LN were randomly devided into Group MMF and group CTX,respectively treated with MMF and group CTX. Both groups were treated with standard-dose prednisone. Results 3 months after treatment, increases of albumin and complement-3 (C3) had statistical significance in group MMF,while only C3 (P0. 01) in group CTX. The difference of increases of albumin between tow groups had statistical significance (P0. 01) in the 3 month. 6 months after treatment, increases of albumin and complement-3 (C3) had statistical significance both in two groups (P0. 01) ,and difference of statistical significance existed betweeen two groups (P0. 01) . There was a statistically significant increase of albumin in the 6th month,Compared with that in the 3rd month. Conclusion Compared with the CTX,MMF treatment of lupus nephritis achieved better efficacy and security.
