Abstract

Objective To evaluate the value of color Doppler ultrasonography in monitoring liver transplantation and its complication. Methods Eleven patients after liver transplantation were examined by using Color Doppler Flow Imaging to observe the structures of liver and biliary system and the hemodynamic changes of the vascular system.Biopsy and bile ductdrainage were performed under the guidance of color Doppler ultrasonography. Results Within two weeks after liver transplantation, the liver became hyperplasia in certain degree, the echo of the liver strengthened and the intrahepatic bile duct slightly enlarged with two case and restored with two weeks. The blood flow velocities of the hepatic artery was slower than that of the normal, and the velocity of the portal vein was faster. There were one case with bile duct infection, one with left lateral liverabscess respectiely. There were pleural effusion and ascites in a certain degree. Conclusion Color Doppler ultrasonography is valuable for monitoring normal liver transplantation and its complication.
