Abstract

The urban land grade system used in China has been developed over ten years. The current system provides a framework for grading urban land according to the extent to what physical,social and economic indicators affect on the land quality. The technique and regulations of urban land grade classification on the urban area of Tianjin were addressed in this paper. Both housing and commercial lots into ten principal grades are classified. Grade 1 is the best quality and grade 10 is the poorest quality. Industrial lots is classified into eight grades. The quality order is in the same way as the above. On the basis of comparative analysis on the land grades classified, some suggestions on the reasonable use plan of land s offered in order to promote land use efficiently and get the best benefits from it.
