The High-End Project for Backbone Teacher Training in the “National Program for Schoolteacher Training(2013) ”——an Investigation Report on the Training Needs of Senior High School Math Teachers

This study,by using self-devised questionnaires to survey a certain number of senior high school math teachers from the High School Affiliated to the Renmin University of China,who received training in the High-end Project for Backbone Teacher Training,aims to explore the needs for teachers' professional development,and their intensive training. The results show the following:( 1) according to selfassessment,the teachers surveyed show the highest level of professional knowledge,followed by professional competence,and professional concepts and ethics;( 2) the needs for intensive training are characterized by the highest demand for such training methods as lesson observation and case analysis,such trainers as famous high school teachers and teaching and research staff members,such training evaluations as comprehensive evaluation and teaching reflections,and such training courses as modern educational theories and practice,and professional knowledge updating and expansion;( 3) a target-oriented and effective backbone teacher training can be achieved only by stressing the combination of the demands from society,schools,and teacher development,and meticulously designing and organizing the teacher training.
