Abstract

Three different sizes of Talc(1.5μm,2.5μm,and 5μm) were filled in PC/Abs blends before being surface treated in 5% KH550(dissolved in 95% ethanol). When the content of Talc was 20wt%(mean particle size 5μm),the notched impact strength was 171J/m,the composite had the best mechanical properties and economic advantages.Abs-g-MAH was also used in this system as a compatibilizer which could improve flexural and tensile modulus of the blends obviously, but could not improve the notched impact strength.
