Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To compare the success rate and complications between jugular and subclavian vein puncture in the central vein catheterization. METHOD: Using statistical χ~2、P value to compare the success rate and complications in two different catheterization groups. RESULT: Internal jugular vein puncture is easier to succeed and less complications than that of subclavian vein puncture ( P0.005). CONCLUSION: Central vein catheterization by jugular vein puncture is the optimal route.
