Abstract
Pollution characteristics of element carbon(EC) and organic carbon(OC) in PM_(2.5) are analyzed based on the continuous measurement in January 2003.The results show that OC has a higher concentration than EC on average level. Both OC and EC are usually high at night, and low during the day with a similar variation. The ratio of ρ(OC)/ρ(EC) is small in Beijing in the winter.
