An Investigation of Equalization of Basic Public Services in Urban and Rural Areas in Gansu

Equalization of basic public services is an important way to narrow the gap between urban and rural areas and to promote the harmonious development of urban and rural areas.According to the equalization of basic public services of urban and rural development evaluation index,the use of the questionnaire method,fourteen counties and cities in Gansu are investigated.The results show that compulsory education,public health and basic medical care,basic social security,public employment,public infrastructure exist the big between urban and rural areas in Gansu.Therefore,further increase the economically backward areas of basic public services to support the equalization policy should be the major focus ofThe Twelfth Five-Year Plan.
