Abstract

So as to understand the correlation between the appearance quality and sensory quality of flue-cured tobacco leaves,we comprehensively and quantitatively evaluated the appearance quality and sensory quality of 35 levels of tobacco leaves from Wuping,Fujian,as well as 30 levels of tobacco leaves from Shixing,Guangdong, conducted a statistical analysis to examine whether the test data possessed reference values, and further analyzed the correlations among various quality indexes. The results indicated that the flue-cured tobacco leaves from both Wuping and Shixing varied widely in appearance quality and sensory quality, and their quality index data had larger reference values for this study. All appearance quality indexes, except for leaf structure and thickness, were significantly correlated with each sensory quality index( P 0. 05). This study can provide references for the establishment of the quality evaluation system of flue-cured tobacco and the production of high-quality flue-cured tobacco in China.
