Abstract

Chlorogenic acid is an important biological active substance. To observe the contents of chlorogenic acid in leaves and barks of authentic Eucommia ulmoides in Sichuan, ethanol and water were used as solvent with an index of extraction rate of chlorogenic acid to make extraction research.Temperature, the density of ethanol,a ratio(material to solvent),and the value of pH were investigated to find their effects on extracting process. The findings show that the optimum extraction condition of chlorogenic acid from leaves and barks are obtained with A3B2C3D1 and A3B1 respectively. It is concluded that extraction rates of chlorogenic acid are 3.324% and 0.647% from leaf and bark of Eucommia ulmoides respectively. The leaves of Eucommia ulmoides are suitable to be used in industry.
