Abstract
At Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station, the extra large underground powerhouse is located in rock with relatively poor geological conditions and is affected by some faults and weak interlayers with developed rock joints. Therefore, rock stability during construction is prominent. In this paper, dominant factors influencing surrounding rock stability are analyzed and characteristics of surrounding rock stability are studied. In the same time, correlated rules of rock stability and influence of corresponding construction measures during construction are investigated by numerical simulation. The analysis results give references to other similar projects and provide guidance to project design and construction.
