Abstract
Objective To compare the clinical effect of root canal preparation for primary molars using ProTaper rotary Nikel-Titanium file and stainless-steel K-file instrumentation. Methods 238 primary molars of 200 children that require root canal therapy, with common position, diagnosis and similar condition, were divided into experimental group and control group randomly. The root canal of two group were prepared with ProTaper rotary Nikel-Titanium file or stainless-steel K-file respectively.Comparison were drawn between the two groups by preparing time, morphology of the root canal prepared.and the final obturation. Results Compared with the control group, experimental group need much less time for preparing. There is significant difference between the two group(p0.01).The incidence of ache after root canal therapy in experimental group(4%) is markedly lower than control group(17%)(P0.01).Compared by the root canal morphology, the experimental group is superior to control group, and the difference is statistical significant(P0.01).Conclusion The experimental group is markedly superior to control group with preparing time, obturative morphology and postoperative complications. It can save a amount of time in root canal treatment for primary teeth by means of using ProTaper rotary Nikel-Titanium file, which can markedly enhance the effect and efficiency of the therapy.
