Abstract
[Objective] To understand the structure and distribution of animal species for plague host animals and parasitic fleas in Longyan City,to provide scientific evidence for plague prevention and control.[Methods]Monitoring data of plague host animal in Longyan City from 2004 to 2006 were analyzed.[Results]3 305 animals of rat shape were captured in 3 years, they were divided into 2 orders,2 families,3 genera and 5 strains, including 2 899 rodents and 406 animals of insectiviora. The density of rat was 4.32%,The density of rattus flavipectus was 2.17%.Among 3 305 animals of rat shape,1 674 animals were found with fleas and 5 353 fleas were collected(including xenopsylla cheopis, leptopsylla segnis and monopsyllus anisus). The flea infection rate of rats was 50.65%,the total flea index was 1.62.The rattus flavipectus flea index was 1.93 and the xenopsylla cheopis index of rattus flavipectus was 1.68.The indoor dissociating flea index was 0.05.3 289 samples of the plague host animal serum were tested, the plague F1 antibody was negative,1 551 samples of liver and spleen were tested, the plague F1 antigen was not found.[Conclusion]The rattus flavipectus was the main species of rat in Longyan City and the main species of flea was xenopsylla cheopis. The density of rattus flavipectus and the xenopsylla cheopis index of rattus flavipectus all went beyond the standard of plague control. No sign of plague prevalence among rats was found.
