Abstract

Objectives For studing composition and distribution of the host animails of plague in Guangzhou city. Methods Rodents were captured by cages and identified species, counted flea index and tested antibody of plague F1 by IHA.Results 1709 rodents, including 1615 rattus and 94 Insectivora, were caught, which were belonged to 7 species,4 genera,2 family.Total density of rodents and density of rattus was 10.39% and 9.83%,respectively.84 fleas were caught and belonged to Xenopsylla cheopis from 40 rattus among 194rodents.The total flea index was 0.43.No F1 antibody of plague was found. Conclusions The major rodent species and the dominant species in Guangzhou city was Rattus norvegicus and Xenopsylla cheopis, respectively. No plague was found, but we should pay attention to the flea index of Rattus flavipectus, which was higher.
