Abstract

Through the research of IEEE 1588 Precision Clock Synchronization Protocol and SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) protocol,the paper introduces a method of precision time synchronization on optical communication network. At the same time it shows IEEE 1588 is the development direction in place of traditional GPS time synchronization on optical communication network.
