Abstract
The experiment was conducted to study the effect of Chinese herbal medicine against coccidian on the intestinal micro flora of AA broilers. One hundred and eighty healthy AA broiler chickens of 1 day age were randomly divided into 5 treatments.Group 2 to 5(the trail groups) were fed with 2% Chinese herbal medicine,0.4% Chinese herbal medicine,0.2% Chinese herbal medicine+1 mg/kg diclazuril, and 0.4% Chinese herbal medicine+1 mg/kg diclazuril, while the group 1(the control group) was fed with the basal diet. The duration of the trial was 6 weeks. The results showed that the Escherichia coli of Group 3,Group 4 amd Group 5 was significantly lower than those of the control group(P0.05).The lactobacillus and the bifidobacterium in the cecum,Escherichia coli, lactobacillus and bifidobacterium in the ileum and jejunum were not significant difference(P0.05) between the control group and the trial groups. So it was recommended that 0.4% Chinese herbal medicine was added into the diet.
