Abstract
Since their coming into being in the Cold War,US-Japan and US-Korea alliances had possessed imbalanced status in American Asia-Pacific alliance strategy.US-Japan alliance had long been the core of American Asia-Pacific strategy,which was of more strategic and political value,whereas US-Korea alliance had been more a military alliance which mainly aimed at coping with direct threats.Accordingly,in the Post-Cold War era,these two alliances have continued to evolve in different ways,US-Japan alliance has been deepening and expanding while US-Korea alliance has proven to be more and more ambivalent.
