Abstract

Objective To explere the curative effects of L-carnitine on neonates with myocardial injury caused by asphyxia. Methods Ninety-one neonates with myocardial injury caused by asphyxia were randomly divided into L-carnitine treatment group(48 cases) and control group(43 cases). The patients in control group were received routine treatment;the patients in treatment group were given L-carnitine 0.1 g/(kg·d) on the basis of routine treatment for 10 days.Symptoms and physical signs were observed pretreatment and during the time of therapy. Before and after the treatment, serum MB isoenzyme of creatine kinase(CK-MB) and aspartate aminotransferase(AST) were mea-sured with immunosuppression and enzyme rate respectively, and serum albumin and prealbumin were detected with the method of bromcresol green chromatometry and immunoturbidimetry, respectively. Results Clinical effective rate of the treatment group(91.67%)was higher than that of control group(74.42%)(P0.05).The treatment group showed a shorter duration of the heart rate recovery[(3.18±1.10) d],compared with control group[(4.32±1.43) d](P0.05).After treatment courses,CK-MB and AST in the treatment group were(22.48±4.72) U/L and(42.18±9.27) U/L,respectively,significantly closer to normal(Pa0.05),compared with control group[(29.06±6.10) U/L,(51.31±11.81) U/L].Compared with control group[(110.73±25.46) mg/L],higher serum level of prealbumin post-treatment was seen in the treatment group[(125.25±30.64) mg/L](P0.05).Higher serum level of albumin post-treatment was also found in the treatment group[(38.58±6.56) g/L]compared with the control group[(35.79±6.44) g/L](P0.05).Conclusion It is very effective of using L-carnitine to treat myocardial injury caused by asphyxia in neonates.
