Abstract
Mathematical modeling course and mathematical modeling contest has built a bridge for the connection between the mathematical theory and practice.It plays a positive role to deepen the reform of mathematics teaching in colleges and universities and improve the mathematical ability of college students and the overall quality.This article has elaborated the rise and development of mathematics modeling,analyzed present situation of mathematical modeling in our college,expounded the influential role which the construction of mathematical modeling course plays to promote the reform of mathematics teaching and proposed several suggestions to strengthen mathematical modeling course in our college.
