Abstract

The floatation separation behavior of AuⅡby potassium bromide-hexadocyltrimethylammonium bromide system in the presence of NaNO3 and the conditions for the separation of AuⅡ from other metal ions were studied. The results showed that AuⅡ could be quantitatively separated from CoⅡ,MnⅡ,AlⅡ,NiⅡ,FeⅡ,ZnⅡ,Gaand CdⅡ by floatation when the concentrations of NaNO3,KBr and hexadocyltrimethylammonium bromide in solution were 1.2 mol/L,4.0×10-3 mol/L,5.0×10-4 mol/L(pH 3.5),respectively.The method has been used for the floatation separation and detemination of AuⅡin the sample of synthetic water with satisfactory results.
