A NEW SPECIES OF SINOCYCLOCHEILUS FROM CAVES IN GUANGXI

This paper describes a new species of the genus Sinocyclocheilus Fang,1936 which was collected in the cave Nalangtun in Tian'e of Guangxi,China.Sinocyclocheilus tianeensis Li,Xiao et Luo.sp.nov.Holotype No.990430011,total length 63mm,standard length 48mm,collected on April 30,1999 from cave Nalangtun of Tian'e County (24°55′N,107°10′E altitude 260m) in Guangxi Province.Paratype 10 specimens.No.99043000110,total length 43～115mm,standard length 34～89mm,collected with the holotype.Description:D.iii,7;P.i,9～11;V.i,6;A.ii,5.Branched caudal fin ray 14.Lateral line scales 35～39.Gillrakers 2+5～7.Pharyngeal teeth 3 rows 2,3,4/4,3,2.Body depth in standard length 3.15～4.25(3.70),head length 2.86～3.40(3.11),length of caudal peduncle 4.25～5.67(4.81),depth of caudal peduncle 8.90～13.00(10.90).Snout in head 1.69～2.44(2.21),interorbital 2.86～4.67(3.61).Depth of caudal peduncle 1.70～3.00(2.30) in its length.Diagnosis:the new species is similar to S.anatirostris Lin et Luo 1986,but differs from the latter in:①close of scales;Vs exposed.②small of eye;Vs blind.③purple of body;Vs translucent.④River of Hongshuihe;Vs river of Youjing.
